A criminal court in Bogotá with supervisory functions (control de garantías) issued a preventive detention order with imprisonment against former Conalvias’ president, Andrés Jaramillo López for being the alleged co-author of willful bribery with undue interest in the execution of contracts as an intervening-party.
According to the prosecutor who is in charge of this investigation, the president took an active part in awarding contract 078 of 2010 related to part III of the mass transportation system denominated “Fase III de Transmilenio” by paying bribes so that two of his companies Conalvías and Unión Temporal Vías Patria S.A.S. could win this contract.
