Attorney General Néstor Humberto Martínez Neira visited the municipality of Caucasia (Antioquia) for being aware of what is happening in the zone concerning social and human right leaders.
According to the Attorney Generals’ statement, Cuacasia, the northeast and the so called Bajo Cauca Antioqueño as well as the south area of the Department of Córdoba have the highest rate of murders per habitants in Colombia. Therefore, an urgent intervention by the institution is needed.
Due to recent murders committed in the region, Martinez Neira stated that the reasons of these crimes must be determined in order to impact this situation by prosecuting perpetrators so that, these ways of violence won´t happen against.
