Former vice minister Gabriel García Morales was arrested.

  1. On December 21st, 2016 an agreement was entered into between the Odebrecht firm, the Inspector General´s Office in Brazil “Procuraduria”, the United States Department of Justice and the Inspector General´s Office in Switzerland  “Procuraduria General de Suiza”. The Odebrecht firm admitted to having paid bribes to 12 countries in order to win contracts. “Also in the case of Colombia, these payments add up to 11 million dollars between 2009 and 2014 in order to obtain contracts on public works”, as stated the document signed by prosecutors from the Court for the East District of Nueva York.
  2. The Office of the Attorney General immediately opened an investigation to corroborate these facts which have been made public. Likewise, international judicial cooperation mechanisms have been activated by the Office of the Attorney General to make progresses in the process.
