In a case related to Óscar Iván Zuluaga, former presidential candidate from the politic party “Centro Democrático”, the Office of the Attorney General decided to file a procedure after conducting an investigation for his alleged connection with hacker Andrés Sepulveda to discredit the Peace Process in la Habana (Cuba).
Attorney General stated that this decision of filing procedures, instead of affecting the fundamental right to have access to law enforcement, it contributes to exercise this right in an effective way since the Office of the Attorney General´s purpose is to filter those behaviors which will not succeed due to the lack of grounds to determine that a criminal action was committed, as well as to identify perpetrators, or to establish that there are reasons or factual circumstances that characterize them as an offense.
