Before the 5th Circuit Court in Bogotá, Emilio Tapia Aldana pled guilty to illicit gain. Charges were brought by the Office of the Attorney General in regards to an investigation which is conducted for his participation in the so called case “Carrusel de la Contratación” in Bogotá.
This would be the third conviction he must serve. The first one was of three years and a half, for criminal conspiracy; the second one was of seven years for bribery and undue interest in the execution of contracts.
On January 17th, the judge will pass sentence. This offense shall be punishable by a term of imprisonment of 6 to 10 years in prison.
