At the request of the Office of the Attorney General, the 17th Criminal Judge with supervisory functions (control de garantías) issued a preventive detention order for Rodolfo Argüelles Alarcón, former director of the so called Hospital Piloto de Jamundí (Valle del Cauca) who is investigated for alleged irregular practices in the purchase of medical equipment for said medical center.

At the same time, the court issued a national and/or international arrest warrant for the defendant. This decision was made after the defendant was found in contempt of court since he was summoned by the Office of the Attorney general to appear before court on October 3rd  2016 but he failed to appear and in return he sent his lawyer.
