As a result of an operation which was carried out by National Navy in Timbiqui (Cauca), Jose Didier Cadavid Salgado was arrested. He was identified by the Criminal Investigation Team (CTI) from this region, as one of the “capos” of the illegal mining.
Despite he was arrested for offenses such as forgery and use of forged documents at the beginning, after some verifications it was determined that Cadavid Salgado, actually has an arrest warrant for aggravated criminal conspiracy, illicit gain, terrorism financing operations, environmental contamination for exploiting mining deposits and other criminal liabilities due to the damages caused to the environment in the pacific coast in Cauca and Nariño.
