On October 21, Attorney General Néstor Humberto Martínez Neira stated “Colombian citizens must know that those who buy stolen spare parts for cars and motorcycles could face up to 13 years in prison” and he highlighted the operation carried out in the main city of Antioquia in which 37 people were arrested and 600 million pesos worth spare parts were seized.
Senior official announced that next Tuesday, several prosecutors belonging to the National Office for Asset Forfeiture will arrive in Medellín in order to begin a proceeding against those commercial establishments where more than 4.500 spare parts were recovered from.
