The Special Prosecutor´s Office with the support of National Police arrested 12 people in Armenia (Quindío), Cali and Darién (Valle del Cauca), including an Ecuadorian citizen. They are wanted with a view to extradition by the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida (United States) for drug trafficking offenses.
According to investigations conducted by the United States authorities, these people led criminal organizations which operated in Valle del Cauca, Antioquia, Nariño, Risaralda, Quindío and Cundinamarca. They used to send large amounts of cocaine cargos aboard go- fast boats.
