The 1st Criminal Judge in Pereira (Risaralda) sentenced Orlando Vergara Hidalgo, alias “Simón” or “el Viejo”, former member of the Óscar William Calvo EPL front, to 17 years and 4 months in prison for criminal conspiracy with extortion purposes, arms and ammunition trafficking, manufacture and possession, forced displacement purposes.
The convicted person known as “el Terror del Opirama” who operated in “Cañon de Opirama” in Quinchía (Risaralda) and had a Interpol´s Blue Notice, wanted to create once again the same armed group which devastated the above mentioned municipality, Guática (Risaralda) and Anserma (Caldas) in 2006.
