For the murder of the regional Director of the Legal Institute of Medicine in Barranquilla a preventive detention order was issued

Alberto Mario Cabrera Barrios, alias “Ñeco”, was sent to the Modelo prison in Barranquilla after a supervisory judge (juez de control de garantías) issued a preventive detention order for aggravated murder, criminal conspiracy, aggravated theft and illegal possession of firearms. He did not plead guilty to charges.

According to an investigation which is conducted by the 18th Prosecutor´s Office in Atlántico, Cabrera Barrios would be linked to the murder of the regional director of Legal Institute of Medicine (North Area) which took place on May 4th in Barranquilla.
