During his visit to Cali (Valle del Cauca) in order to attend a congress (XVII Congreso de Abogados Javerianos “Desarrollo y Paz”), Attorney General, Néstor Humberto Martínez Neira, highlighted the labor of the institution in regards to anticorruption and stated “we prefer extradition for those corrupt people instead of home confinement”.
Attorney General invited civilians and authorities to work together to fight against what he denominates “plagues” which are currently causing pain in Colombia, these are corruption, micro trafficking and also to guarantee a secure Law which allows to have a steady and long-lasting peace.
He stated that in order to be a viable society “we cannot make a concession to corruption which have eaten away our democratic state”.
He also stated that Institutional Legitimacy has become deteriorated due to appropriation of health resources, children´s food at schools, Fosyga resources, among others.
