Interim Attorney General Jorge Fernando Perdomo submitted the Supreme Court of Justice a report about the Office of the Attorney General´s management during the last four years. An innovative institution that embarked on a journey towards transformation and modernization led by former Attorney General, Eduardo Montealegre Lynett who saw the need for it to adapt to new criminal challenges  in order to meet the victims’ needs.

Interim Attorney General explained how the priority policy (“politica de priorización”), investigations in context, management models and investigations which began to deal with the criminal phenomenon through the prosecution of criminal structures, have been implemented.

In these four years, the Office of the Attorney General played a leading role to define the Colombian criminal policy, started new discussions about decriminalizing some offenses, also proposed several changes of the Colombian law in the legal aspect, and carried out actions in order to harmonize investigation criteria and the exercise of criminal actions by prosecutors and judicial police members.
