A preventive detention order was issued against an alleged ringleader of a criminal gang engaged in human smuggling

The 2nd Municipal Judge of mixed jurisdiction in Turbo (in spanish “Juzgado Promiscuo”), with supervisory functions (control de garantías) issued a preventive detention order with imprisonment against Cristian David Cuesta Beltrán, alias Humita (19 years-old) for being an alleged member of the criminal gang known as “Los Kalifa” inTurbo (Antioquia).

Cuesta Beltrán was arrested after he handed over to CTI members in Antioquia in the framework of “Pisisi” operation led by the Office of the Attorney General. Also, 27 arrests and preventive detention orders against members of different criminal structures engaged in drugs trafficking and human smuggling were conducted.
