Interim Deputy Attorney Jorge Fernando Perdomo Torres announced in the city of Medellin that this year a legal offensive against criminal organizations will take place in five regions of the country. It will be similar to the one that was carried out in the city of Buenaventura (Valle del Cauca) where homicide rates fell 50%.
Senior official explained that a legal offensive against criminal organizations will be carried out in the cities of Urabá, Bajo Cauca (Antioquia), Catatumbo, Guajira and the southern area of the country in which not only their militant wing, but also their financial sources and relations with corruption in some sectors of the political class will be affected.
