Eight members of two organizations engaged in firearms trafficking, five of them retired army and police officers, as well as three private individuals were arrested in Bogotá, Villavicencio (Meta), Barrancabermeja (Santander) y Funza (Cundinamarca) for crimes related to firearms trafficking and criminal conspiracy.
The operation was conducted by the Judicial Police Office specialized in Organized Crime (PCO). A noncommissioned officer in active duty, a retired army officer, three former police officers and three private individuals were detained. They would have participated trafficking war material, ammunition, explosives for criminal bands at the service of drug trafficking organizations.
