In the commemoration of the peace agreement with M-19 reached 25 years ago which will take place today in Plaza de Bolivar in Bogotá, the Attorney General Eduardo Montealegre Lynett stated that this agreement proves that there is a future to Colombian citizens, demonstrates that a negotiated solution to the internal armed conflict is the way out, that 25 years ago there was a peace agreement with M19, a sustainable peace which originated the constitutional assembly, a constitution which is a product of a peace process.
He also highlighted that the Constitution is the most important achievement in the history of Colombia since it allows Colombian citizens to have more access to health, housing, issues such as democracy and protection to minorities.
