The 2nd Municipal Criminal Court which has jurisdiction over this matter (Funciones de Conocimiento) in Valledupar (Cesar) sentenced Víctor Alfonso Cevera Mejía to 120 months in prison for the crime of aggravated extortion. The incident occurred on November 5, 2012, when the above mentioned person asked a businessman for $10 000 000 Colombian pesos in the name of “Los Urabeños” in exchange for avoiding an attempt on his family´s life and his own.
