An exhibition of selected pre-Columbian pieces that were repatriated from Spain will be held in the presence of mass media and the interim Attorney General, Jorge Fernando Perdomo Torres; Minister of Foreign Affairs, María Ángela Holguín; Minister of Culture, Mariana Garcés; the director of the Colombian Institute of Anthropology and History (ICANH- Instituto Colombiano de Antropología e Historia), Fabian Sanabria; and the President of DHL Express Colombia, Jorge Lavignasse.
A total of 691 archaeological pieces with great historic value were seized in 2003 in the European country as part of an operative conducted against drug trafficking and money laundering. Their repatriation is considered the most important ever made in the country’s recent history.
