An Army Officer was sentenced to more than 23 years in prison for the murder of neurosurgeon Jorge Daza

The Army Officer, Apolinar Betancourt Ramírez, was sentenced to 23 years and 10 months in prison by the 6^th Circuit Criminal Court in Barranquilla after he pled guilty to the murder of neurosurgeon Jorge Daza Barriga committed on January 24^th, at Ciudad Jardín neighborhood in Barranquilla (Atlántico).

The National Director of Specialized National  Prosecutor´s Offices  on  Organized Crime, Álvaro Sarmiento García stated that Betancourt Ramírez drove the vehicle which arrived at the doctor´s apartment, he bought the car and he hired criminals to commit this murder.
