The municipal Judge of mixed jurisdiction in Istmina (Chocó) with supervisory functions (control de garantias) issued a preventive detention order against Jerson Jair López Tobar, alias López for being the alleged responsible for the murder of lawyer Gabriel Areiza Albornoz.
The lawyer was shot last june 21st between the municipalities of Istmina and Condoto where he allegedly had an appointment with his murderer. The victim´s relatives stated that alias Lopez looked for the lawyer days before his death as he needed a lawyer to represent him in a criminal case.
