After a plea bargain between the defendant’s defense and the Prosecutor, the Second Specialized Circuit Court in Villavicencio charged Jhon Ferlinson Mahecha Jiménez with manufacturing, trafficking and possession of ammunition belonging to the Armed Forces.
The facts occurred on August 23, 2013 when Mahecha Jiménez was driving on a motorcycle through Achote village in the municipality of Mesetas (Meta) and he was registered at an Army checkpoint. Mahecha who was accompanied by an underage female tried to hide a bag with her aid. During this personal registration the authorities found in the bag 175 cartridges for 5.56- caliber rifle.
