Carlos José Iguarán Salas, a Circuit Labor Judge in Ciénaga (Magdalena) turned himself in to CTI Judicial Police in Santa Marta in order to comply with a detention order issued against him for breach of public duties and embezzlement in favor of third parties.
Against the above mentioned 64 years old judge there was a current arrest warrant issued by the 2nd Delegate Prosecutor´s Office before the Court for the events occurred in 2006 since the detained person allegedly granted a “writ for protection of fundamental rights” (Tutela in spanish) to more than 100 teachers from other departments different from the department of Magdalena. He granted them a pension so-called “pension de gracia”1 causing a huge patrimonial detriment.
