A preventive detention order with imprisonment was issued against Alirio Alejandro Méndez Prieto by the 38th Municipal Criminal Court in Bogotá, with supervisory functions (control de garantías) for attempted aggravated extortion in consistent sequence of same crimes.
The 11th Prosecutor belonging to the National Directorate against Organized Crime stated during a public hearing that Méndez Prieto was apprehended in flagrante when he received from the victim, a trader and owner of naturist food stores, a package that simulated to have $ 30 million pesos.
