The Attorney General Office informs:
1. During the last hours, the institution was formally informed about situations that can affect the security and integrity of the journalist Juan Carlos Giraldo Palomo and of his family.
2. These facts, are very serious and therefore, could violate good name and reputation of the journalist who currently works in a private television channel.
3. The Attorney General Office considers that any kind of pressure on a journalist affect the main right of freedom of the press, as provided in the Political Constitution of Colombia.
4. The Attorney General Office will be on the alert for the evolution of this situation and any other action which can affect the normal exercise of journalism in Colombia.
