The National Directorate of Analysis and Contexts requested the detention of the former manager of Fondo Ganadero de Córdoba and former governor of the same region, Benito Osorio Villadiego, for charges related to war crimes and crimes against humanity.
According to investigations, Osorio Villadiego in association with Sor Teresa Gómez Álvarez from Castaño´s Clan took more than 100 properties of rural families in Córdoba and Urabá by means of fraud and false property titles in order to legalize them and leave them in the hands of Fondo Ganadero de Cordoba which was under his management in 1997.
The former governor is also responsible for the offense of criminal impersonation at the same investigation since he unlawfully took 16 properties located in the municipality of Tierra Alta (Córdoba) through the front man of Salvatore Mancuso Gómez, Aram Asias Soler in 2007.
The victims are demanding to have their rights restored. Therefore, the prosecuting authority requested La Unidad de Tierras to begin the restoration process, so that these people can come back to their properties.
However, Osorio Villadiego was released due to expiration of terms within another process, for the offenses of conspiracy and money laundering.
