Mary Luz Valencia Balanta, a systems engineer at The Mayor’s Office of Puerto Tejada (Cauca ), accepted the charges brought by the Prosecutor Officer as she committed detriment of public funds of the municipality exceeding $ 200.000.000 pesos.
According to the prosecuting authority, she manipulated the collection systems in areas such as: treasury, budget , accounting, property rates, tax on industry and commerce, among others in order to make non authorized modifications, delete or erase debts of people. She left as debt only the recent year, causing an embezzlement of $201,520,203 pesos during 2013.
