In relation to the technical examinations carried out to the audiovisual material recorded at Mr. Andrés Sepúlveda office and which has become public, the Attorney General’s Office informs:
1. As part of the judicial police actions, the Attorney´s General Office obtained the authentic and original video collected during the investigative proceedings. Once the respective technical analysis was performed by CTI experts (Technical Investigation Team), it could be determined that “it has continuity in the audio and video and there is no indication that it has been subject to an editing process. It means that the video that is in possession of the Attorney General Office is original and has not been modified.
2. SEMANA magazine revealed to the public the contents of another journalistically adapted video which according to a technical report made by experts of the Lawyer JAIME GRANADOS, it was modified.
3. The Attorney General Office has had the possibility to analyze the report and CTI experts have concluded that the examination carried out by the complainant’s expert, lacks of technical and scientific basis. The reason is that the examination was not made to the original material and therefore, the differences between audio and video can be due to (i) loss of data when the video was downloaded from SEMANA magazine website, ( ii ) the type of format in which the video was stored,(iii ) the possible change of format. All above mentioned conditions make difficult to consider the report as valid.
4. In order to rule out any doubt, the Attorney General Office carried out examinations regarding the video published by SEMANA magazine and concluded that it is an original material journalistically adapted .
5. On the other hand, in relation to public statements made by the lawyer Andres Guzman where he claimed that a “critical analysis” was done on the video published by SEMANA magazine , the Attorney General Office could establish that this analysis has technical shortcomings that make difficult to consider the report submitted by the complainant lawyer, as valid.
