The Attorney General of Nation, Luis Eduardo Montealegre Lynett, announced nine key steps to better institutional performance in Buenaventura (Valle del Cauca). The measures are:

1. institutional strengthening with the creation of two (2) subdirectorates, one of the technical investigation corps (CTI) and other comprehensive attention to victims. “Will double the plant’s staff with 24 new permanent posts of prosecutors, CTI investigators and administrative staff. In addition, 27 officials temporary to support the investigations that are developing”, said the Prosecutor.

2.  Prioritization in the researches with emphasis on those with serious violations of human rights, dismemberment, and violence against women.

3. creation of an Elite Corps of CTI with 20 senior officials to support investigations.

4. special tracking, from Bogota, to unarchive investigations relating to cases of enforced disappearance and displacement.

5. It will be the presence of experts in criminal analysis for the dismantling of groups outside the law.

6. Strengthening the mechanisms of the State in the search for missing persons and in the development of urgent acts.

7. Staff with international standards in investigation with differential and gender approach.

8. Program of witnesses protection.

9. Encourage collaboration policy for those who are within the groups outside the law and want to collaborate with the authorities to dismantle these criminal organizations.
