A Prosecutor of the national unit for the extinction of domain and money laundering requested a specialized judge to extinguish the domain of 130 buildings and two commercial establishments that belonged to the missing drug trafficker Julio Cesar Correa Valdes, alias Julio Fierro.
Research on the origin of the goods of Julio Fierro originated in a 2002 report issued by the defunct Administrative Department of security, DAS; about relations of signed drug trafficker with the then-boss of the Cartel of Medellin, Pablo Escobar Gaviria.
The report cited among others, the versions of several witnesses, who noted that Julio César Korea Valdés was in fact Julio Fierro, a Pablo Escobar partner and the judgment of 1999 of the Special Prosecutor of Medellin, who ordered to investigate for ties to the Medellín Cartel.
Among the goods are society FIB Antioquia Ltda, which is a factory of shields of vehicles, also appear 18 apartments and garages in Medellin, 112 lots in Venecia, Antioquia and a hotel in Medellin, properties that are on behalf of the family of Julio Fierro, all of them are worth more than 10.000 million pesos.
