Voluntarily appeared at Attorney General’s Office instalations the National Army Major Nelson Mauricio Molano Calderon to make effective an arrest warrant issued by a prosecutor of the National Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law.
Against the officer, the Prosecutor in charge of the killing investigation of Jorge Andrés Beltrán Cortés had uttered security measure without release from prison benefit for the crime of murder of protected person.
According to the investigation on April 24, 2005 in the village of October 12 the municipality of Cartagena del Chairá, Caquetá, Jorge Andrés Beltrán Cortés died as result of a gun projectile, powered by a soldiers group of the Battalion counterinsurgency Number 55 of the National Army.
The Militaries involved in the case were under the command of Captain Nelson Mauricio Molano Calderon, who left the patrol report recorded that the young man died during sustained combat with guerrillas members in which the professional soldier Samir Medina Polo was also killed.
