The Third Criminal specialized Court of Medellín Circuit sentenced to nine years in prison Giovanny Andrés Agudelo Yepes alias Yova, by extorting traders and farmers of San Felix township, municipality of Bello (Antioquia).
On June 29, 2012, several men who identified themselves as members of the so-called Envigado Office, cited the victims to a farm in the area, where demanded amounts ranging from 500 thousand to 3 million pesos a month to provide private security service.
The criminals also announced to the sector farmers that had to pay one million pesos for each 25 head of cattle.
Agudelo Yepes was captured on 15 January this year and accepted the charges that Prosecutor formulated by crimes of conspiracy to commit a crime aggravated for purposes of extortion, attempted extortion and consummate extortion.
