The prosecution raised charges against eight people who were caught exploiting minerals apparently illegally in rural area of Santander de Quilichao (Cauca).
In a partnership between (CTI) members, the national army and the Regional Corporation of Cauca, located in El Pedregal village, on the river Mondomo, a complex for illegal gold exploitation which used several types of machinery and items, worth at more than 400 million pesos.
There was a backhoe, a sorter and three pumps. In such extracted between 400 and 500 gold grams per week. During the proceedings, eight people who were at that place were captured and made available to the prosecutor.
The prosecution imputed charges them for illegal mining, but the defendants did not accept charges and still linked to the investigation.
