To sentence of 13 years and nine months in prison was sentenced Miguel Augusto Castro Peña, former treasurer of Tourism Institute of Meta, on charges of misappropriation embezzlement  and false public document.

The sentence, issued from a decongestion court of Villavicencio (Meta), refers to the events of December 1, 2011 when from the Tourism Institute received a complaint of irregularities in the management of the entity bank accounts and for the diversion of two thousand million pesos.

Researchers from the Technical Investigation Corps (CTI) in Villavicencio established linking to process of Castro Peña by irregular handlings of this money. It would have made irregular transfers of money to personal accounts.

The decision was appealed by Castro Peña, who has been sheltered with house arrest.
