The Third Criminal Court of the Specialized Circuit of Medellin endorsed the celebrated pre-agreement between the Attorney and the accused defense, in which was set a sentence of 37 years and three months in prison against Juan Camilo Naranjo Martinez, alias GOMELO, former leader of La Sierra criminal band that offends in the east of Medellin.
Naranjo Martinez, prisoner on El Pedregal jail, will be sentenced for the murders of the National Police Lieutenant Juan Jacabo Frentes Sarta, the patrol from the same institution Fredy Alexander Espinosa Garcia and Diego Fabian Hernandez Piso, as well as the civil Ossman Dario Ruiz Henao. In addition to the murders, the defendant accepted the charges for the crimes of attempted aggravated murder, aggravated conspiracy for commit a crime, terrorism, illegal possession of firearms, illegal use of communication networks and violence against public servants.
The soldiers were murdered on November 4, 2012, during the capture process of alias Gomelo in a residence of Caicedo neighborhood in Medellin, where were confiscated seven rifles, several pistols and abundant different calibers ammunition. Henao Ruiz was killed in the same sector on 6 May of that year, when he apparently was preparing to receive the territorial management of the area for designation of the Envigado Office.
