At the request of a Prosecutor’s Office, a preventive detention order in a prison facility has been enforced by the Second Criminal Municipal Judge in Santa Marta, acting as supervising judge, against Euder Segundo de la Cruz Gutiérrez, alias Junior, alleged ringleader of the criminal Los Urabeños gang that commits crimes in the Department of Magdalena/Colombia.
The defendant was captured during a search and seizure proceeding in a house located in Rosalía area in Santa Marta. At the time of his arrest, three mobile phones and a number of handwritten papers with names and phone numbers which are apparently related to individuals and commercial establishments that were subject of extortions were seized by the authorities.
De la Cruz did not accept the charge for aggravated conspiracy to commit crimes that the Prosecutor’s office accused him during preliminary hearings and the individual remains in detention.
