The 41st Criminal Judge of the circuit of Bogotá sentenced Yeimi Cristina Fonseca Pedraza to 4 years in prison for the crime of trafficking, manufacturing and illegal possession of narcotics.

The prosecutor in charge of the case reached an agreement with the accused person in which she accepted  to be an accomplice. During the hearing, the judge did not granted the benefit of a domiciliary detention as she did not meet the requirement of being head of the family. In addition, she must pay 62 minimum legal monthly wages in force.

On July 28, 2012, Fonseca Pedraza was intercepted at the International airport  Eldorado and she had a  x-ray checkup. The Image showed that she was carrying inside her stomach several containers in the shape of capsules. These were expelled and it could be demonstrated that they contained cocaine.

The woman had a ticket to travel to Panama and then to Nassau, in the Bahamas. She will serve the sentence at El Buen Pastor prison, in Bogotá.
