Hernando Coy Cruz, former director of Fondo Ganadero del Meta* was sentenced by Third Criminal Court of the Circuit of Villavicencio to seven years, one month and ten days in prison for his role as mastermind in aggravated theft, forgery of a private document and obtaining a forgery public document.

The investigated facts occurred in 2009, when authorities discovered irregularities in the transfer of more than 102 thousand shares which were owned by people who were unaware of the management given to those assets, while some other belonged to deceased people.

The decision says that among the evidence obtained by investigators of the Technical Investigative Team (CTI) of the Office of the Attorney General of Colombia, documents and false reports of loss were found in order to claim irregularly the shares, as well as powers of attorney to benefit the participation of Coy Cruz on the Board of Directors of Fondo Ganadero.

In the ruling, judge ordered to imprison Hernando Coy in a penitentiary facility.
