Fredy Augusto Granada Poveda, former Office of the Attorney General civil servant, was sentenced to six years, eight months in prison and a fine of 66.66 monthly legal minimum wages for receiving donations in order to deflect investigations that were conducted against the municipal administration of Puerto Boyacá (Boyacá).
Granada’s responsibility was established by a Court due to the facts happened in 2007, when he worked as an Assistant of a Prosecutor in the Local Unit of the port. There, he had hidden complaints against the then Mayor, Luis Eduardo Álvarez Acevedo. As a result, Granada received a brand new pickup that eventually rented to an oil contractor.
The judgment was final and the defendant is deprived of his liberty in a prison in Caldas Department for the offences of bribery and illicit enrichment.
