Preventive Detention Order issued against to a policeman for the death of his teammate

At the request of the 281 Local Prosecutor’s Office assigned to the Unit  of Immediate Reaction (URI) in Tunjuelito,  the 48 Criminal Municipal Judge in Bogotá, acting as guarantee control judge, issued a Preventive Detention order against patrolman, Kevin Rodrigo García Gómez, who was charged with a count of intentional homicide.

According to the Prosecutor, the facts happened on February 6, in the police station in Rafael Uribe Uribe locality, Bogotá South, when the victim argued with García Gómez. Also, during the facts the death of the patrolman, Jorge Esteban Flores Carvajal, 18, arose because of rifle shooting.

During the public hearing, the suspect of the shooting did not accept charges and he was sent to jail.
