Madison Benjamin James Walter, alleged financial chief of the Los Rastrojos gang in San Andres Island, has been remanded in custody by a precautionary measure issued by the 61 Criminal Municipal Court in Bogota, acting as Supervisory Court.
At the hearing, the Prosecutor specialized against emergent criminal gangs noted that James Walter is being investigated for the crime of aggravated conspiracy, because from 2011 he would have dedicated to leading and organizing war against other gangs, including the so-called Los Paisas. Apparently, it would have paid up to 10 million pesos for the death of each of its members.
The accused was captured last January 27, near his residence in San Andres Island, and immediately he was transferred to Bogota. At the end of the hearing, he did not accept the charges.
