Fifty-seven members of the ‘Los Rastrojos’ gang who commit crimes in an area close to the banks of the Atrato and San Juan rivers, in the Department of Chocó, were condemned by criminal judges of the specialized circuit of Quibdo, during the last six months.

The National Unit of Prosecutor’s Offices against Emerging Gangs (in Spanish: Bacrim) submitted sufficient evidences in order to impose sentences which ranges between 4 and 7 years of imprisonment against the aforementioned for conspiracy to commit crimes, previously agreed between the Prosecutor’s Office and the defendants.

Pablo Emilio Posso Espinosa, alias Atila; Manuel Enry Valencia Chala, alias Penguin, and Jeison David Gutierrez Cermenio are listed as convicted persons. Also, these people are still pending for murder and terrorism prosecutions.

In the same period, 113 arrest warrants against the members of the illegal group were requested by the Prosecutor’s Office, which 79 were put into effect.
