The Attorney General Office has handed down an indictment against José Vicente Castaño, AUC Commander, for his alleged responsibility in an aggravated homicide.
Such a decision was adopted by a Prosecutor assigned to the National Unit of Human Rights and IHL, who considered that Castaño Gil was a material and improper accessory to the death of Fabio Ivan Tafur Caicedo, designated by his killers as alleged guerrilla militiaman.
Members of the “Calima block” perpetrated the killing of Tafur Caicedo on August 27, 2000, when the victim was in a soda fountain in the municipality of Santander de Quilichao (Cauca).
Responsible for this illegal armed structure were Evert Veloza García, alias HH, and Elkin Casarrubia Posada, alias el Cura (the priest), who followed the guidelines drawn up by the accused.
