To 15 years in prison and a fine of 1,090 legal monthly minimum salaries has been sentenced Fredy Muñoz Altamiranda, member of the Farc 37 front, who was found responsible for the offence of terrorism and rebellion as an accessory.

The sentence was passed by the Juzgado Único Penal del Circuito Especializado (Unique Special Penal Court of the Circuit) in Cartagena which considered that the accusation brought by a Prosecutor assigned to the National Unit of Human Rights and International Humanitarian Law was well-founded.

Muñoz Altamiranda, alias Jorge Eliécer was, according the investigation, responsible for coordinating terrorist actions committed in Cartagena, such as the attack carried out against the electrical substation in Manga neighborhood, among others.

Alias Jorge Eliécer, an expert in the manufacture of explosives, was one of the right-hand men of Gustavo Rueda Diaz, alias Martín Caballero, head of that insurgent front, who was killed in October 2007 by the police.
