Today, the Colombia Attorney General, Dr. Eduardo Montealegre Lynett, have said that rendering of accounts with transparency is duty of the public servers and represents an opportunity to connect State institutions with citizenship, because rendering of accounts is “to accept responsibility”.
The assertion was made by the senior official at the beginning of the Attorney General Office’s Rendering of Accounts Hearing in which the criminal investigations and resources management executed by the year 2011 has been reported to citizenship by him and the entity projection for the period 2012 to 2013 as well.
Also, Viviane Morales Hoyos´ labor carried out at the head of the institution was praised by Dr. Montealegre Lynett and he underlined the challenge that Colombia Attorney General Office has, facing the peace process, in regard to legal aspects which entail Farc and ELN members demobilization that, in addition, covers investigation, prosecution, judging, reparation and restoration of the truth in cases of human rights violations.
Similarly, the Attorney General said that during his administration, a continuity will be given to the projects promoted by the then Attorney General, Dr. Morales, in 2011 and he will work on the development of what will be the new criminal policy which, as a result , a National Unit of Analysis and Context will be created.
This new Unit seeks to replace the conventional methods take on investigations in the field of human rights, he explained.
Finally, he referred to the need to create mechanisms for the protection of the citizen security that facilitates the transformation of the entity in an intelligent Attorney General Office.
