Ovidio Isaza Gómez, alias Roque, son of Ramón Isaza Arango, former leader of illegal armed groups has been remanded in custody by the 32 Criminal Municipal Judge in Bogotá, acting as Supervisory Judge, who in advance has legitimated the Prosecutor’s Office’s request.

The Prosecutor in charge of the case, attached to the National Anti-Narcotics Unit and Maritime Interdiction, laid charges against Isaza Gómez for the crimes of trafficking, manufacture and transport of ammunition and explosives for exclusive use of the military forces and illegal use of uniforms and badges.

The Prosecutor during public hearing said that Isaza Gómez was the head of a criminal organization on the Magdalena Medio and he was caught by anti-narcotics police in the farm “Cabo Tiburon” located in the municipality of Puerto Triunfo (Antioquia). Isaza Gomez was in possession of long and short firearms, ammunition of different caliber, logistic material and 214 million pesos in cash.

The defendant accepted the charges brought by the Prosecutor and he was transferred to a maximum security cell at La Picota prison in the South of Bogota
