The Colombia Attorney-General’s Office during a next public event on October 18, will present apologies to the former deputy from Valle del Cauca, Sigifredo López Tobón, who the examining prosecutor in charge of the case has precluded the prosecution against him.
This Friday, the announcement has been made by the head of the accusing entity, Dr. Eduardo Montealegre Lynett, once the decision was promulgated yesterday, Thursday, September 27.
The ceremony will be held at 10: 00 a.m. in the Attorney General headquarters and it is expected the assistance of the offended political leader, representatives of social organizations and the relatives of the 11 deputies who were kidnapped by Farc, along with Lopez Tobon, and were killed in captivity.
“The Director of “Dijin” (in English: Directorate of Criminal Investigation) has been summoned to this audience, said Dr. Montealegre Lynett, and for him it is not discretional to attend or not.” There is an order from a Prosecutor. In this case, a prosecutor is who administers justice and judge’s orders are obeyed and not discussed.”
In the event of a refusal by the Director of the Dijin, the Attorney General explained that “under Colombian law, anyone who breaks the law and disobeys a judicial resolution incurs an offense”.
