15 alleged members of a gang dedicated to drug trafficking, whose criminal activity took place in the Departments of Santander, Norte de Santander and Bolívar, were remanded in custody.

The decision was taken by a Criminal Municipal Judge, acting as Supervisory Judge, in Bucaramanga city, who accepted the request of a Prosecutor’s Office. Investigation was carried out during two years in which 98000 audios from tapped cell phones subscribers were collected.

The Prosecutor’s Office charged the defendants with alleged trafficking, manufacturing or possession of narcotic drugs. The now involved were arrested by the Colombia National Police in Cúcuta, Bucaramanga, Bogotá, Santa Rosa and Simití (Department of Bolívar) last weekend.

The custodial measure was issued to the following individuals: Orlando Moreno Torres, Edison Castiblanco Torres, Edwin Alberto Suárez Gutiérrez, Santiago Noboa Osorio, Gelacio Alberto Alfonso, Nelson Richard Vega Mendoza, Adolfo Remolina Jerez, Raul Francisco Chivatá Lopez, Hugo Yamel Aguirre Barreto, Edwin Galvis Barreto, William Ricardo Galvis Leguizamo, Maximino Suárez Gutierrez, William Quintero Solano, José María Pela Ramírez and Herney Humberto Galvis Castro.
