On July 28, the Office of the Attorney General turned Claudia Ximena Orozco Córdoba in to the authorities as she was wanted with a view to extradition by the Republic of Ecuador for trafficking illegal substances.
This procedure was carried out at the Colombian – Ecuadorian border known as the Rumichaca bridge (Puente Internacional de Rumichaca) as a result of a joint work of the Office of the Attorney General, the Criminal Investigation Directorate and Interpol -Colombian National Police, and the National Police of that country.
The aforementioned citizen was turned in to the authorities of the Embassy of the Republic of Ecuador on July 15, 2020, by the Office of the Attorney General through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Orozco Córdoba had been arrested with a view to extradition on August 31, 2018, based on a red notice issued by Ecuador for facts that took place in that country on August 14, 2018, in which 23 people died aboard a motor vehicle that was transporting a large amount of narcotics.
These facts were widely known by public opinion and the case was known as the ‘narcobús’ case, in which she allegedly participated as the organizer of the trip.
