Apparently, the person under investigation identified himself as a member of the Ismael Ruiz front of Isaías Pardo bloc of the Farc dissidents.
After approving the evidence presented by a Prosecutor in Gaula, a judge imposed a prison sentence against Brayan Yovani Aranda Andrade, alias Cristian; allegedly responsible for engaging in extortion in Aipe, Teruel, Baraya, Villavieja, Neiva and Valencia de la Paz, rural area of Iquira (Huila).
Members of the Technical Investigative Corps (CTI) in coordination with Gaula of the Army, arrested the defendant in Tenerife neighborhood in Huila. The Office of the Attorney General charged him with aggravated extortion since he apparently identified himself as a member of FARC dissidents.
The investigations revealed the alleged criminal actions committed by the defendant who since August 9, through telephone calls, demanded the payment of more than 20 million COP from a well-known company in charge of distributing cooking oils in the north and center of the department.
On August 21st, ‘Cristian’ allegedly set a date with the victim in a place known as Valencia de La Paz, located in the rural area of Iquira, so that, he could receive money derived from the extortion, or he would attack the victim’s life, family and the distributor.
